A team of engineers1 were required to measure the height2 of a flag pole3. They only had a measuring tape4, and were getting quite frustrated trying to keep5 the tape along6 the pole. It kept falling7 down, etc.
A mathematician comes along, finds out8 their problem, and proceeds to remove9 the pole from the ground10, lays11 it down and then measures it easily.
As he leaves12, one engineer says to the other, "Just like a mathematician! We need to know13 the height, and he gives us the length14!"
